IBM: Observability Solutions

A modular, gesturally-interactive environment for IBM that turns complex IT-observability concepts into a scalable, re-arrangeable spatial story, built at FIELD.IO.

Overview

Observability Solutions is a commercial client project built atFIELD.IOforIBM, opening space for meaningful dialogue at the forefront of technological innovation by transforming complex IT systems into a clear, engaging narrative told through gestural interaction. Concept & approach

The team uncovered metaphors that not only convey IBM's complex subject matter but transform to showcase multiple products through different perspectives, an approach FIELD.IO frames as "one environment, multiple perspectives" rather than a fixed, single-purpose display. The result is a modular environment that can be re-arranged and perceived in new ways to tell new stories, supporting a scalable interactive experience rather than a one-off installation.

Through tangible interaction with structure, space and perspective, users are given the power to turn complexity into engaging stories and memorable moments; the underlying question the work explores is how AI can elevate play "not by replacing the human element, but by recognising and amplifying it."

Presentation

Observability Solutions was built and shown as a physical, gesturally-interactive spatial installation rather than a screen-only demo, its modular structure meant to be re-arranged across different showings and product narratives.

Gestural input is the connective layer across every one of those views: visitors reach into the projected structure directly rather than tapping a screen or panel.
